Niagara welcomes Same sex couples!  We have listed all the information you will need to arrange your ceremony here!

There are a few ministers that will perform same sex weddings.

Others have opted not to.  Save time by using our listing !!  We have done the work for you! We have listed all the ministers that will gladly perform your same sex ceremony!

Below is all the legal stuff you will need to know! (Incidently,  the legal requirements are the same for all denominations of weddings)

Same Sex Weddings: License Requirements

Marriage License Requirements for Ontario, Canada

Fee:

The fee for a License is $100.00 Canadian (Cash Only). The price is subject to change - call in advance to verify.

Age:

Both parties MUST be 18 years of age or over to obtain a License. Applicants who are 16 or 17 years of age must have parental consent. No person under the age of 16 years may be married.

Number of Applicants to Attend Before Issue:

Both parties MUST complete and sign an application form. However, if BOTH parties are not able to come in to obtain the Marriage License, one person may bring in the completed application form signed by both parties along with the two pieces of identification as specified below.

Identification Requirements:

Applicants must provide two pieces of ORIGINAL identification such as a Birth Certificate, Driver’s License or a Passport.

Period During Which License is Valid:

A Marriage License is valid anywhere in ONTARIO for a period of 3 months from the date of issuance

Divorce or Annulment:

If an applicant has been granted a divorce or an annulment in Canada, the applicant is to file with the Issuer the original or a COURT CERTIFIED COPY of their final divorce papers.

If an applicant has been granted a divorce or an annulment in a jurisdiction other than Canada, the applicant should speak to an issuer of Marriage Licenses to receive additional requirements.
