Skype wedding ceremony to Scotland { Niagara wedding Little Log Chapel }

Sarah and Ryan were married on an absolutely picture perfect day here in Niagara! The sun was shining, it was warm and the fall leaves were starting to fall. It was a gorgeous day!

We were anticipating this couple’s wedding day for a long time and when they arrived we could hardly contain ourselves! Sarah and Ryan had come all the way from Scotland and chose our Little Log Chapel for their Niagara wedding after searching for an elopement destination. They have some family in Ontario, so it was the ideal destination wedding location for them.

When Sarah put her wedding outfit together, the gorgeous blue dress came first. She didn’t want to be in traditional white, rather she wanted something simple and that would fit into her suitcase. All of her blue accessories fell into place afterwards. We especially loved the white veil with the colored dress. It all came together beautifully.

Sarah’s family were not able to travel, so we contemplated ways for the family back home to watch the ceremony vs. just seeing pictures afterwards. We decided to Skype the ceremony but needed to get the best quality signal all the way out to the chapel (wireless internet signals in the forest are slim pickins). After consulting with our our technician James (seen below), and testing a variety of options days before the wedding, we figured the best solution with hardware and internet speeds etc. We did the official test and it worked like a charm!

Sarah’s family watched from their living room in Scotland. They were dressed for the occasion, and had glasses of champagne in hand. The officiant gave the family in Scotland the cue to “now  throw the rice.” It was very heart-warming to see their proud faces and joyful tears. Technology really is a blessing to us all.
